To complement Maurten’s custom type system, we developed a tailored set of pictograms built on the same design logic as their bespoke monospace typeface. The goal was to create a cohesive icon system that integrates seamlessly with text and reflects the brand’s technical, minimalist aesthetic. Each icon was crafted with precision, using the geometry and angles of Maurten Mono as a foundation. Special attention was given to sport-specific symbols like the runner and cyclist — exploring variations in posture, speed, and distance to ensure recognizability across disciplines.
